Peter Bertelsen Memorial Park is one of our largest and oldest village parks.  It is located in Park Village, on Arrowhead Drive. This full featured park offers something for young and old, alike.

The park is named in memory and honor of Lieutenant Peter L. Bertelsen, of the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, who lost his life in the line of duty on September 16, 1965.

A prominent feature within this park is the Deputy Jeff Mitchell Field.  On October 27, 2006 Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy, and EDH resident, Jeff Mitchell was murdered while on duty. Deputy Mitchell served nine years with the department and was known as an outstanding, dedicated officer. He had a passion for baseball and our community's youth.

A broad based community fundraising effort was launched to renovate the existing field, and on August 29, 2009 the new field was dedicated in honor of Deputy Mitchell.
