Public Park and Recreation Trail Update:
Construction has begun at Saratoga Park, including grading, construction of retaining walls, and restroom delivery. The Recreation Trail is completed and accepted by the District as of July 13, 2023. Saratoga Park completion is expected this Fall 2023!
Saratoga Trail is Completed!
At the July 13, 2023, EDHCSD Board meeting, the Board accepted the new Saratoga Trail. The 2,300 lineal foot Recreation Trail (see map) is between Platt Circle through the Saratoga Estates to the Promontory Trail system. The mostly decomposed granite and concrete public recreation trail will provide a multi-use trail east-west connection between the Crescent Ridge Neighborhood on Platt Circle through Saratoga Estates, which includes the Saratoga Park (coming soon), the completed Saratoga Trailhead, and the connection to the larger Promontory Trail system. The new Saratoga Trail is accessible through the pedestrian gate at the entrance of Saratoga Estate to access the Promontory Trail or you can access the trail at the Saratoga Trailhead located at Saratoga Way and Saratoga Estates. The recreation trail includes 2 picnic tables and 2 benches to rest or enjoy a snack or picnic before connecting to the larger trail system.

Completion of Trailhead and Open Space!
The District hosted a Grand Opening for the Trailhead on June 27, 2022. Staff, Board members, and the community were invited - as well as the Trojans Mountain Bike Team from Oak Ridge High School.
Saratoga Estates, an Elliott Homes development, located just north of Highway 50 and east of Wilson Boulevard, has four (4) exciting amenities being developed. The project includes a trailhead, landscaped open space, a public park and a recreation trail.
The Saratoga Trailhead and Landscaped Open Space (Lot M) are completed. The Trailhead is located southern starting point connection for the Promontory Trail, which extends from Saratoga Estates to Promontory Community Park. The Trailhead is located off of Saratoga Way at Saratoga Estates Drive, and includes a small parking lot, shade structure, and bike fix-it station. The Trailhead connects to the Promontory Trail, which extends from Saratoga Way to Alexandra Drive (approximately 3 miles). The landscaped open space is located on the south side of Saratoga Way and includes a dry riverbed, trees, and drought tolerant landscape. The trailhead and open space were completed and opened in June 2022.The Saratoga Public Park (Lot I Park Site) and Recreation Trail were issued for public bid in September and both started construction in April 2023. The future 2.1 acre Saratoga Public Park and 2,300 lineal foot Recreation Trail will be the final two amenities constructed. Saratoga Park is located on the NW corner of Saratoga Way and Wilson Blvd and is planned to include three main play areas - a 2-5 year-old playground, 5-12 year-old playground with inclusive play elements, and an Adventure Play Area between the two playgrounds. Other amenities include three shade structures over picnic table areas (2) and two benches, grass areas near playgrounds, lighted parking lot, and a two-stall restroom. The Recreation Trail will provide access from Platt Circle, in Crescent Ridge, through Saratoga Estates and outlet to the Promontory Trail system. As noted above, there have been delays in permitting the construction work at the park since the contractor submitted plans. On January 12, 2023 the CSD Board reassigned the trail work to Hemington Landscape Services, and construction will begin as soon as scheduling and weather permits. Olympic Land Construction will remain the contractor for the park and both began construction in spring of 2023.
