Gilmore Senior Center Re-Opens After 18 Months

Gilmore Senior Center Re-Opens After 18 Months

The Gilmore Senior Center IS BACK and will officially re-open on September 1st! “A top priority for the Board has been to safely re-open our Senior Center. While we were happy to temporarily open at the Teen Center, we are excited to be re-opening the Moni Gilmore Senior Center and welcome our seniors back to a refreshed space with new programming on September 1st”, said Noelle Mattock, Board President. District staff have been working hard behind the scenes to make this happen safely. General Manager Loewen elaborated, “our Gilmore Center re-opening is exciting and with intentional action planning. Over the past few months we utilized the CSD Teen Center as our Senior Programming Center to ensure our safety protocols were to the standard needed prior to moving back. We also wanted to freshen up the look-and-feel of that facility. If there are any new restrictions to in-person programming, then we may have to return to the Teen Center at Community Park, or take actions unknown to us at this time. It’s with this deliberate and intentional planning for safety first that we are very much ready to welcome patrons back to the Gilmore Center. Welcome Back!”

Please note that there will be no senior services on Monday, August 30th, and Tuesday, August 31st, due to staff moving everything from the Teen Center to the Senior Center and setting up for the re-opening. We have also added new classes, which offer more time and space to drop by and hang out. If you have questions about the Senior Center, please call (916)614-3200 or email Dylan Davis at ddavis@edhcsd.org.

We look forward to seeing you on September 1st at the Gilmore Senior Center!
