El Dorado Hills Community Services District Announces Property Purchase for New Community Park

El Dorado Hills – Today, El Dorado Hills Community Services District announced its intent to develop a new community park on property south of Highway 50. The property is at the southern end of the El Dorado Hills Business Park, and their purchase agreement is with Sacramento-based real estate development firm Winn Communities.

Approximately half of the property being acquired by the CSD was previously included in the Creekside Village Specific Plan residential project being proposed by Winn, which will be responsible for securing required County approvals and agency permits for the project and park. The District is in the process of a Master Plan update, which will significantly influence programming and facilities at the park. Amenities could include ball fields, an aquatic center, and more recreational facilities. The park design, planning, and approval process is expected to take several months.

The park is expected to be in excess of 50 acres. The specific size of the park property will be determined as the CSD completes its feasibility work over the next several weeks.

We’re excited to work with Winn Communities again, as they’re the developer who helped us deliver the iconic Community Park over 30 years ago.”

Winn’s Creekside Village project is proposed on 208 acres that in 2018 were de-annexed from the southern end of the El Dorado Hills Business Park through a vote of property owners. Creekside Village is envisioned to include a range of housing types designed to meet the future needs of El Dorado Hills residents and employees. The project will be updated to reflect the new CSD community park and is currently going through environmental review with El Dorado County. County hearings on the project are expected later this year.

The El Dorado Hills Community Services District owns approximately 535 acres of land, including 254 acres of parks and 281 acres of open space. With an annual budget of over $8 million, it has a full-time staff of 27 park and recreation professionals and support staff, in addition to over 150 part time and seasonal employees.
