Trails

Share the experience and memories New York Creek Nature Trail has to offer.  This hiking trail is situated in approximately 28 acres of New York Creek Nature Area.  The trail is 2.5 miles long and begins in the Community Park at Harvard Way.

The trail ends in Art Weisberg Park at Francisco Drive. The trail, which is considered an educational opportunity for residents and local schools, provides botanical settings and views of native wildlife.  The District currently maintains the trail as it winds through native oak trees and along the small New York Creek.  It’s perfect for individuals, families and nature enthusiasts.

The District received part of the area that is now the New York Creek Nature Trail in 1972 as a gift deed. In 1986 the area was enlarged when an 11-acre parcel along New York Creek was conveyed to the District for use as an open space natural area.

The District encourages local community involvement in the protection, conservation and care of New York Creek.

You can continue your venture from the New York Creek Nature Trail by crossing the bridge at Brackenwood Road to Fairchild Park.

The Indian Grinding Rocks are a popular attraction.
