For the absolute beginner, no prior music
experience required. You’ll learn the parts
of the guitar, standard guitar chords, basic
music reading, simple songs and some basic
music theory. At the end of the course
the student will be able to play some
simple songs. Student must provide their
own guitar. Acoustic guitar is preferable,
but an electric guitar (no amplifier) is ok.
Please bring a $10 material fee to first class.Ages 18 & up

No artistic talent required to start art
journaling and a great way to grow
creatively. It’s fun while you learn techniques
that develop artistic skill and confidence
while recording thoughts with
journaling prompts provided in class.
Art-tool-kit required: pencil, ruler, glue
stick, white glue, scissors, sketchbook
and permanent black ink pen. Please
bring a $15 material fee to class.

This class emphasizes drawing through
observation and understanding the concept,
“learning to see,” as synonymous
with drawing. We will explore a variety
of techniques and experiment in alternative
ways as well. You don’t need to
be experienced, just willing to try new
things and practice your skills. Supply
list is available.

No artistic talent is required. These workshops are therapeutic in nature and will
teach you how to express feeling and
emotion with color using the Art4Healing
method. Participants will process their
feelings abstractly on canvas while learning
about color, composition, and other
elements of art. Three canvases will be
completed with acrylic paints. Please bring
a $15 material to class.

Each class will explore a different technique
or application to use with acrylic
paints. There will be props or examples
to gain inspiration from. Students are
welcome to bring their own interests
and ideas for subject matter. Individual
painters and family members are encouraged
to enjoy painting in a relaxed
atmosphere. Cherie Hacker MFA, paints
in her studio in Midtown Sacramento
and her work is displayed in many
gallery and museum exhibits across

flash? Bring your camera and learn how
it operates. No experience necessary.

This fun class provides a guideline for
purchasing necessary equipment (and
knowing what not to buy). Transfer your
images from the camera to the computer,
clean up photos, and save them
for e-mail or printing on photo-grade
paper. Process photos taken during class
and receive helpful handouts.

Schedule & Online Registration 
Make elegant, dome-shaped truffles
with a variety of luscious fillings including:
white, milk and dark chocolate.
Learn how to flavor basic ganaches (fillings)
with liqueurs and oils. Make and
take a dozen truffles in a gift box, plus
receive recipes, notes, tips, and truffle
molds. Please bring a material fee of $12
to instructor.

Love Sushi? Learn to make it yourself
so you can benefit from enjoying sushi
whenever you want. You’ll be taught to
make sushi rice, CA inside/out roll, Philly
roll and Nigiri. Teaching techniques
include both demonstration and handson
practicing and best of all you get to
eat your own work of art! Please bring
long, sharp knife, cutting board and $15
material fee payable to instructor.

Hidden caches abound in El Dorado Hills
and around the world! Learn how to use
a GPS receiver (provided) to find caches
hidden in parks and neighborhoods.
Use a free geocaching website to look
up local caches, interpret cache information,
log found caches and finish by
searching for a nearby cache. No experience
or equipment is necessary.

specializing in wedding and party flowers with 20 years of experience.
Location: CSD Pavilion
Fee: $49
(A $20 material fee is payable to the instructor the first night of class.
Students should bring a sharp pair of clippers and sharp scissors to class.)

Students will gain lots of creative inspiration and decorating tips. Each student
will leave with a centerpiece that they will make in class. The basis of this centerpiece
is a pomander ball (ball of flowers) with little accents to make it look like an
apple. This is a perfect gift for a school teacher or health nut.

Have you ever tried to arrange a dozen roses in a vase and make it look like it
came from a flower shop? You will learn some basics of floral design and then
create your own arrangement that you will take home with you.

You will learn some basics of floral design; the instructor
will demonstrate how to create a fun St. Patrick’s Day
themed centerpiece incorporating Bells of Ireland, green
carnations, kale and red potatoes. Each student will
make a similar centerpiece that you will take home with
you.

grouping, or used individually and placed
through your home or office.

Class starts off with some basics of flower arranging
tips, with instructor demonstrating
how to make the centerpiece. Students will
then make their own centerpiece that they
will take home. The flower puppy is adorable
and perfect to bring a smile to anyone’s face,
particularly children and dog lovers.
